South London Sanding enjoy the revitalisation of schools and different types of halls which have often been left tired and worn from acute foot and shoe abuse. These floors are often heavy duty pine parquet, sometimes as much as 35mm in thickness, whereas domestic blocks are usually 18-22mm thick, but the construction and renovation process is all the same. You will notice the timber is hand picked usually without, or at least, very few knots, being from the sapwood and heart of the tree. Other popular materials used in halls and schools are hardwood strips or blocks in oak or the very red tone of sapelle, popular in the 50's and 60's.
As explained the renovation process for commercial floors is exactly the same as in the house, though tougher, higher specification lacquers are applied to help combat high traffic and general abuse.
